My MacBook suffered at doomily distraught deathtastic destruction today. For the first time ever I was going to use my Mac for exactly what I had bought it for. Doing things online and not in my dorm. I brought it to Gracie’s (the dinning hall closest to me at RIT) ate some food and sat down ready to blog my booty off. I open my computer to…
“What the (explitive) is this?!!?” I thought to myself
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was like watching a porn channel you don’t actually own…you don’t actually get to see anything, but you see enough to keep you hooked (well, at least it does when you are 14). It teases you; letting you know something’s there but you can’t have it.
Restart…. damn. Restart…. damn. open close open close restart… damn.
I called Apple and they had me restart my computer holding all kinds of crazy keys (specifically option, apple, p, and r) they had me move my ram around from slot to slot and had my try booting up with just one card and nothing, absolutely nothing would work. Then the guy at the other end has a great idea.
Apple guy: Oh, do you have your boot cd’s that cam with your notebook?
Me: Yeah! Oh wait, no, my Mac only came with an empty cd sleeve, but I didn’t think it was a big deal so I didn’t call anyone…”
Apple guy: oh, well, try (insert a way to put ram into the machine here) wile I work on having the cd you need shipped to you.
Well, since Memorial Day is a holiday (a holiday RIT does not take off – actually, quick side note, an administrator at RIT said, directly to parents at transfer orientation, “RIT does not take holidays.” Sooooo scary.) The earliest it could arrive is this Tuesday. Then, if it doesn’t work I will have to mail them my notebook. So i could be without my new baby for well over a week and possibly two.
*Note: I ment to write a “I GOT A NEW MAC AND LOVE IT” post along with a application guide (the guide is mostly for my girlfriend who has the same computer) but I havent had time. So I will have that as soon as my mac is working agian.*
